Drawing on the Arab heritage of Oral tradition and mosaic-like storytelling, LEILA AND THE WOLVES explores the collective memory of Arab women and their hidden role in Palestine and Lebanon's history of resistance. Shot over seven years, this film is a masterpeice of filmaking.
Through Leila's "eye" comes a search for a political character in a Lebanon and Palestine now permanently stained by the massacre of Sabra and Chatila. Leila prods these moments of loss and discovers ghosts of a very different life before the wolves.
Directed by Heiny Sour, Winner of the six film festival awards.
